Natalie Wash combines her knowledge from her undergraduate degree in Psychology form East Texas Baptist University and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Natalie is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern under the supervision of Robi Heath, M.Ed, LPC-S, RPT-S.
From a young age, Natalie realized her passion is to bring hope to children and families dealing with difficult or stressful life circumstances. She has worked with children and adolescents in the foster care system since 2009 ensuring they have supports and services in place to help them be successful.
Natalie completed her Master’s degree in Counseling while working at a local child placing agency. There she had the opportunity to teach foster parents about the impact trauma can have on a child’s development, behavior, and long-term outlook on life. She believes the most important piece to the puzzle of healing from stress and trauma is having strong, supportive relationships to lean on.
Natalie is currently working full-time as a child development specialist at a local children’s hospital, and gets to continue working exclusively with children that are in the foster care system. For Natalie it is rewarding to be a part of setting children on a path of growth and healing.
Natalie works part time at Kid Talk to provide counseling services to children and teens. At Kid Talk she can help children from all backgrounds who might be experiencing stress or life changes. She works closely with parents to better understand their child’s needs and to help children better communicate their needs to parents. Natalie utilizes developmentally appropriate methods such as play therapy and expressive arts to help children and family move towards healing.
