I am such a big advocate for not only treating a child’s mind and helping them heal emotionally but also making sure their bodies are good shape to help with our work. I am sure you have heard the saying “trust your gut” and I believe it comes from the belief that our tummies are important to us and that we should actually tune into them more often to learn about ourselves. Our tummies are directly linked to parts of our brains that create important hormones such as our feel good hormones that combat anxiety and depression symptoms. If our tummies are not functioning properly, then our mood is most likely not doing to well either. If you are at Kid Talk, I am sure one of us has introduced the idea of your kiddo taking probiotics as part of the healing process. We want to make sure kiddos are healed in their mind, body, and spirits. We have to make sure kiddos and families are all around taking care of themselves so they can be the best person possible. Therefore at Kid Talk we like to think we take not only the holistic approach but the “whole”-lisctic approach to healing.
Here is a great read that talks more about the advancements in understanding the connection between our bodies and they way we feel.
